Switch Up Your Lunch

What could you do for your body, your wallet, your planet and your happiness? What could you personally do to reduce your impact on the planet and help fight climate change?

For the average Oxfordshire citizen, the food that we choose to eat has the most impact on the planet – particularly meat and dairy products.

So what can you do? Switch Up Your Lunch! On Monday 10th June, join us for what will be a day for veggie/vegan lunches on a historic scale.

Join staff and employers at Oxford’s major companies and institutions reducing the impact of their Monday lunch.  Whether you eat at work, pack your own lunch, go out to eat, or eat at home, we’re inviting Oxford’s citizens and employers to take one or two simple steps to try tasty new meal ideas and reduce the burden of their meal on the planet.

Things that you can do:

If your employer provides lunch, ask them to serve exclusively vegetarian options on June 10th.

If you make your own lunch, make it a vegetarian or vegan meal that day.

If you buy your lunch elsewhere, seek out a vegetarian or vegan option.

And tell us about it! Pledge your own lunch/your organisation’s lunches on our website, share photos on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #SwitchUpYourLunch, and tell other people about it!

We’ll be providing meal and menu suggestions that can be used in Oxford Green Week and beyond…
