Pop up green events across our city…and beyond

Rose Hill gets green

Rose Hill Gets Green will be a great day out for all the family. There will be children’s activities like making things from waste materials, wild animal face-painting, Eco-Pass-the-Parcel and Musical Vegetable Statues.  These will keep kids happily occupied while you attend our adult events and stalls about all things green in Rose Hill and Iffley. There will be a guided nature walk for all ages from 11.30 am – 12.30 pm, followed by a shared community lunch. We are expecting that all this will be coordinated by a salsa-dancing town-crier in lime-green lycra.

The main event will be a talk about home insulation from 2 pm – 3.30 pm. You will be introduced to Cosy Homes Oxfordshire (cosyhomesoxfordshire.org), a new organisation for house-owners, sponsored by the Low Carbon Hub. It offers:

  • a comprehensive survey of your home, so that you can prioritise the best ways of insulating it, saving on bills and carbon emissions
  • a list of vetted, trained builders that you can approach for estimates
  • external, objective monitoring of the quality of work once it has been completed.
