Traditional Buildings Energy Efficiency Workshop
Historic buildings add much in terms of beauty and interest to Oxford but can be harder to insulate and make more energy efficient. There is much to be gained from good understanding, maintenance and considered introduction of appropriate energy efficiency measures.
This free workshop from Oxford City Council will include presentations on Oxford’s heritage and traditional buildings and an introduction to the new Heritage Energy Efficiency Tool produced by Oxford City Council, BRE and CSE in order to help homeowners understand their traditional homes and how to reduce the energy use.. Attendees will also briefly be introduced to the Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliances (STBA) Guidance Wheel for building professionals.
Interactive discussion via questions and answers will be encouraged, and attendees are requested to bring their own case studies to the event for illustration or advice. This event aims to support those interested in the Green Open Homes project to improve the energy efficiency of their traditional homes.
