Too Good To Waste launch – at Oxford Green Drinks
Whats left on your plate is too good to waste! Thousands of pounds are wasted in the county each year through good food being thrown away. Research into consumer perceptions has found that embarrassment is the main reason why diners dont ask to take food they are enjoying home.
To tackle this Oxfordshire County Council is launching the Too Good to Waste Oxfordshire campaign at the Green Drinks event during Low Carbon Oxford Week and will be providing 100 restaurants with free eco-friendly take me home boxes to offer to diners.
You can show youre a lover not a leaver by asking to take food you are enjoying home the next time youre eating out. To find out more about the campaign and find out which restaurants, pubs and cafes are taking part near you visit www.toogood-towaste.co.uk/oxfordshire
Restaurants who are interested in reducing food waste, reducing costs and improving sustainable credentials can sign up to our campaign. Each participating restaurant will receive (free of charge) 250 free take me home boxes, listing on the campaign website and a supporters pack. For more information on the campaign please visit www.toogood-towaste.co.uk/oxfordshire or telephone LCMB, the project managers, on 01295 722 823 to speak to Sam or Chloe.
