Robert Newman’s New Theory of Evolution
Following sell-out shows in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and London in 2013, Robert Newmans New Theory of Evolution is back for 2014. Rewritten, revised, and packed with new material – Rob has honed HIS new theory of evolution. The show is an exploration of the exciting new discoveries over the last decade in the field of evolutionary biology, and an attack on Selfish Gene theory, arguing that Darwinism is a much richer thing than Dawkinism, and that Dawkins is totally un-Darwinian. Rob’s new theory of evolution is summed up in the phrase the “survival of the misfits”. Rob argues that all species originate from misfits pushed to the edges of ecological tolerance in tiny populations. Searching for proof to support his theory, Rob takes the audience on an epic quest, seeking clues in red harvester ants, Laurel and Hardy’s handpump railway trolley, mirror neurons, the 1975 Sex Discrimination Act, Prince Kropotkin’s jailbreak, antelope squirrels and the Court Jester Hypothesis.
