Ran Kan Kan: Congo Cuba Connection

Raising the temperature without global warming.  An exhilarating musical encounter of live music from Congo & Cuba.

?   Grupo Lokito – an exciting blend of Congolese & Cuban musical traditions

?   Oxford’s Ran Kan Kan – classics from the golden age of Cuban son, mambo & other styles.

?   African & Latin sounds from DJ Badger

In 2006, a World Wildlife Fund study named Cuba as the only country, with sustainable development – that is both a high quality of life (as measured by the UN Human Development Index) and a relatively small ecological footprint.  As a contribution to Low Carbon Week in Oxford the evening will start with a short talk and video about Cuba & Sustainable Development in the café, with speakers from Low Carbon Week and Cuba Solidarity Campaign.
