Oxford Bike Week ISIS Cyclists CTC Women-only Long Ride to Stanford-in-the-Vale (35 miles)
Meet by the statue of the ox at Oxford rail station at 9.45 for a 10.00 am departure. This ride is a little longer than an Isis normal long ride as it is part of the group’s preparation for a 50 mile ride later in the summer. It follows quiet roads and lanes with a couple of unavoidable crossings of busy main roads. Once we are at the top of Cumnor Hill, the ride is more or less flat through the pretty villages of Appleton, Longworth, Hinton Waldrist and Pusey before arriving at Stanford-in-the-Vale for a late coffee and cake or an early light lunch at the ‘Huddle Stanford’ cafe. Our return route takes us through Charney Bassett, Fyfield, Cothill and Sunningwell before heading down to the Thames tow-path which brings us back into Oxford. There are two opportunities for a tea stop on our way back depending on the wishes of the group.
Ride is women only.
